Garth Christie, Redford Township Clerk writes: Zhelin for a relatively short time (6yrs) I feel that I have gotten to know her well because of her involvement in our community. I am the township clerk and when I first met Zhelin, she was a community activist concerned with verifying the integrity of our elections. Initially, she was a skeptic but she is reasonable and open minded and will consider all of the evidence before forming a conclusion. About a year later I was really impressed with her leadership and commitment to our community when she organized a Martin Luther King Day prayer breakfast. And of course I was blown away by her music. Since then, she has performed at our Township sponsored MLK Day prayer breakfasts, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and other community events. Zhelin is a fan favorite. While her music may rise to celestial heights, her feet are firmly grounded in her community.
